THE HAPPY JAZZ BAND JUNE NEWS SHEET

Dear Jazz Lover, Fan, and Follower,
This is a very important News -Letter. We The Happy Jazz Band, and our guests, - thats you, - have enjoyed the hospitality on Thursdays of thr Bush Hill Park Conservative Club, and it has become our regular get together, having many great evevnings.However, due to circumstances , many places are finding it increasingly hard to balance the books, and this place is no diffirent and if nothing is done, then the bailiffs might be knocking at the door.
The B.H.P Cons Club Committee, with this in mind, have decided they must take the following step.
From Thursday March 6th 2008, all Con Club non members will be charged an entry fee of £2-00,and I presume that this fee is not just on Thursdays, but on every other day of the week, and the falls in line with other Con Clubs we have been to.
You can get round this fee by becoming a member. The yearly fee is very much in your favour, and if you are a pensioner, then very much so, especially as time goes on. Please talk to committee to get details.
I would like to mention the raffle, if I may. This is our only source of income at the club, and as it goes - not to the members of the band - but to expenses which always mount up. For example, although The Jazz Guides have "FREE" on them for you, they are not to me, I have to buy them.I have to buy the prizes. I have to pay for leaflets etc plus this and that, ( are you feeling sorry for me yet?), and it would be hard to manage with out it.
What I am saying is "Thanks for supporting the raffle, please continue to do so - its a great help to us and so necessary" and if you don't believe in raffles, then just bung some money in the bin!.
So there we are. Let's all do our best to keep jazz going, keep following it, keep playing it, and very important, keep spreading the word about where our jazz is played.
